I studied Chinese brush painting for years and was never satisfied with my compositions. Fortunately I saved all the studies and found that I could collage bits of them to canvas and achieved interesting results. This painting points to aspects of existence I consider the web of life. It received an award from the Lexington Art and Craft Guild.

This series was based on my fascination with the front and back sides of a birth bath that I passed every day. It reminded me of Carl Jung's concept of the fully integrated self and the process of individuation. In the third of the series, the selves have been united.

For me, Cape Cod is a true gift. I loved painting with hot wax because of the wonderful luminescent quality that it alone provides. I had to give it up because of the lack of well-ventilated space. Inhaling encaustics for a long period of time produces a very unappealing headache the next day!
