About Me Hi . . . I’m Marianne Rowe

Most of my "official" working life was in academia, teaching and conducting research. However, from childhood on, I was always engaged in making art. Art and literature have been lifelines, resulting in paintings that tend toward the narrative and to confront contemporary issues. My art education constitutes a parallel pursuit with study at the Museum School of the Museum of Fine Art in Houston, Texas; Radcliffe College in Cambridge, MA, The Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, MA; and the School of the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA. Mostly, I consider myself self-taught, and revel in being able to maintain an eclectic approach to painting. I have exhibited throughout the years in numerous juried group shows, had solo shows in the Boston area and in Tucson. My paintings are also part of private collections in Houston, Washington, D.C. Boston, Cambridge, and Tucson.
